The Bible teaches that our all-powerful God has, in His infinite wisdom and grace, chosen to use “secondary” and “ordinary” means to accomplish His sovereign will in the world. Though He has limitless means at His disposal to carry out His will, He has chosen to use the “weak”, “foolish”, and “ordinary” things so that He might shame the “strong” and the “wise” in the world. (1 Cor.1) But more than this, He does so in order that He alone might receive all the glory, honor and praise for fulfilling His purposes in our lives.

Not only do we know this truth via Scripture, we have the great blessing of experiencing this truth first-hand at Cornerstone. God has used us, mere “clay pot” Christians, to proclaim the gospel of Christ, to save the lost, to sanctify believers, and to build up the church all for His glory. Thus we have seen for ourselves this truth of “secondary” means through our beloved church. Cornerstone is indeed a fruit of God’s great work of establishing His church around the world.

For this reason, as we look back on our 10 years as a church of Jesus Christ, we are filled with praise and thanksgiving to our God. It has been an amazing and grace-filled journey. With each step, God has granted us an ever-growing knowledge and understanding of God’s infinite mercy given to us in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Week after week, it has been our privilege to extol and behold together the beauty of the cross, glorify God for His salvation, and respond with repentance. God has been with us each step of the way. We believe the time has come for our next step forward.

Kairos is a word used by New Testament authors to denote the “right or opportune time.” We have been praying and preparing for a kairos time when we could come together as a church with the purpose of seeking God’s will for a church building and location. We humbly believe that this kairos time is finally here.

We are seeking a building not as an end in itself but because we believe that it will ably serve as an “ordinary” and “secondary” means to the greater end of maximizing our ministry of the gospel to the church and to the world. The ultimate end is that we will bring greater glory to God. We believe that a building will greatly aid us in preaching the gospel, grant us much freedom and flexibility to minister to one another, and allow us to better worship God as we gather together as a church.

Therefore, with this conviction, the Elders, Pastors, Deacons, and Flock Shepherds of Cornerstone Bible Church have fully united ourselves in this endeavor. We join our hearts and hands to seek God’s will in this effort and we humbly ask you to join us. We ask you to prayerfully seek God’s will and consider your role in this church-wide pursuit. May we fix our eyes on Christ, seeking to please Him only and do all things by faith in Him.
